Psychological Thriller: The Forgotten Memory

## **Psychological Thriller: The Forgotten Memory**

Alex woke up in a room he didn’t recognize. The walls were bare, the air thick with dust and the faint smell of something metallic. He rubbed his temples, trying to remember how he got there. Nothing. Only fragments. Shadows. Echoes of voices he couldn’t place.

He stood and looked around. A single window, high up, barely letting in light. The door was locked. Panic clawed at him. Why couldn’t he remember anything? Who was he?

A piece of paper lay on a small table in the corner. Alex picked it up. His hands trembled.

*“You wanted to forget. But some memories refuse to stay buried.”*

He read the note over and over. The handwriting was familiar, almost like his own. But that only made his head spin faster. What had he done that needed forgetting?

Hours passed—or maybe minutes. Time felt distorted. He found a small mirror on the wall. His reflection startled him. The eyes looking back were the same, but the face… the face seemed different, like a mask.

Suddenly, a sound. A whisper, just behind him:

“Remember…”

Alex spun around. No one. Only shadows shifting unnaturally in the dim light. His mind flashed with fleeting images: a scream, a locked door, a hand reaching out… and then blankness.

The note was still in his hand. The words now seemed alive, moving on the paper. Alex felt a pull, a compulsion. He didn’t want to remember. He *needed* to.

The door rattled. Someone—or something—was on the other side. A voice called his name. Familiar. Terrifying.

Alex realized that some memories, no matter how deeply buried, will always find a way to surface… sometimes in the dead of night, sometimes in a room you thought you’d never enter.

And when they do, you can never be the same again.
