Creepy Encounters: Night Calls

## **Creepy Encounters: Night Calls**

It started with a phone call at midnight. Julia was alone in her apartment, scrolling through her phone, when it rang. The caller ID showed no number—just a blank screen.

“Hello?” she answered, her voice shaky.

Silence. Then, a faint whisper:

“I’m here…”

Her heart skipped a beat. She hung up, thinking it was a prank. But then the phone rang again. Same blank screen. Same whisper.

Over the next few nights, the calls continued. Sometimes it was a whisper, sometimes just breathing. No one on the other end, yet the presence felt close, almost inside her apartment.

One night, Julia left her phone downstairs and waited. She heard her bedroom door creak open. The whisper came again, louder this time:

“Why did you leave me?”

She never found out who—or what—was calling. Friends suggested it might be a stalker, a glitch, or her imagination. But Julia knew better. There was something beyond explanation. Something that knew her, followed her, and wouldn’t let her feel safe at night again.

Since then, she sleeps with all the lights on, never answering unknown calls. But sometimes, when the wind blows just right, she thinks she hears it whispering through the walls: “I’m still here…”

### **Tips for Writing Creepy Encounter Stories**

1. **Use first-person perspective:** Makes fear more intimate.

2. **Focus on small details:** Phone rings, whispers, creaking doors heighten suspense.

3. **Leave the antagonist ambiguous:** Reader imagines the horror themselves.

4. **Build repetition gradually:** Repeated encounters increase tension.
